Silver Lake has grown rapidly from a rural area to a high-density neighborhood over the course of the last 100 years. The picture above shows Rowena Ave in 1933– quite a different scene from today.

Like the neighborhood, the building has also evolved. Originally built in 1962, the 2-story red brick structure was purchased in 2003 and redesigned, changing from a single occupancy business (the Recycler Classified paper) to a multi-tenant space that is more in tune with the current needs of the neighborhood.

Everything in the building was updated and the addition of 17 skylights brightened up the windowless interior with lots of natural light on the second floor, while the first floor became perfect for film editors and designers who need more control over lighting.

Located in the heart of northern Silver Lake– walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars– the Roger building offers creative workspaces and office suites for lease on a month-to-month or long-term contract basis.

Completely remodeled in 2004, it was stripped back to its bones and redesigned as a multi-tenant building with all new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, restrooms and a community kitchen.
